Across the counter. Soundless, so profound how she stares through my soul. Accompanying smile and green eyes locked lips with mine, frozen in time.

I stare back stuck still, unable to peel away. Frail to what her eyes are trying to say.

There’s no meaning
I hate it
Stuck in a slump
Yet, I don’t give a fuck
I can’t give up

Claw away at it all

The panes fog and snow looks like rain on contact, hot
The echo of a metallic scrape takes the climax

That shoe rack drips wet next to the dry orange log tossing smoke out the vent
