Resilience

Though you never announced your arrival

And I didn’t even realize your existence

Like buoyancy, you prevented me from sinking

Lifted me up from below dark water

So I could emerge to breathe

You are as natural as gravity

And I took it for granted

Never appreciated your effort

Until you anchored me to sturdy ground

Lest I be blown away by gusty wind

You are the comrade of my courage

Together fill up my will power to ful

So I can regain my confidence to

Engage in long fights against adversities

Hand in hand with endurance

You form a long ladder down to abyss

Allowing me to climb up

You assuage the bitterness of time

When suffering seems endless

Accompanying me in the backstage

You, quiet resilience, are ready

To buttress up my stamina

And assist me to bounce back
