Puzzle Piece That Fits At Last

To see my sorrow surface in your eyes

To know that you have seen the edge, held defiant and defined

A new meaning for the term ‘suicide’

For you, it turns to fire

And ash, and then you rise faster

Every time, and grow wiser

And I envy your black hole eyes

We fall into each other; know as one

What it means to have been undone

Then to pick up the shattered scraps and

Turn yourself into something so original you would

Never know the history in it

The pain that somehow pierces through

Gives another dimension to it, flips perspective

No one else could understand

The shifting layers and meaning hidden

In us holding hands

But I can see the storyline

And I know just exactly how to make the words line

Up and reach out and reflect the look

Of happiness I see in your eyes

Of all the things I crave the most

Demand loudly from the universe

Is to be seen in all my shades

And now that I have you,

I never realized how blind the world was

to me before

And I am crystal and beauty if the sun

hits me just right

Now you get to see me shine

With you right beside, the edge

looks so much less divine
