Fully Realized

What frame of reference have we

To comprehend the mystery of life?

We can see the stars in the sky

Yet our observation of them is only so perfect

As the prism of atmosphere through which we view them

Those distant diamonds being all the more sharp and distinct

When viewed from far above the Earth

And even then we do not see

The light of more distant constellations

Which has not yet reached us

We can behold the beauties of the natural world

Flora, fauna, land, sea

Yet are unable to view the elemental atoms

Which comprise them

We detect the presence of life

Only in its animation

Or sadly in its absence

With no view of the spark energizing it

Watching rather only the vessel in which that spark is contained

Not the soul which flies free of corporeal reality

It is said that when we pass from this existence

We reunite with the Whole

Being separated from it in this world

As a droplet thrown free of the ocean’s wave

Detached, yet a part of Oneness

And in returning to Completion

Only then may we understand

Appreciate

That what we call “life”

Is not our existence in this momentary being

But rather the wonder of All

Fully realized only we return
