Down Thru The Winds Of Time

I am your mother

From long, long ago

Hundreds of years before

The time you now know

Our lives as so different

Our looks don't compare

But some things are the same

You still breathe the same air

I've birthed a dozen children

Perhaps, in your time, we'd have two

Fathers here, work long and hard

In an era far different to you

Unbeknownst, we struggled for you

Though, no way could we foresee

That you would one day look back in time

Desperate to know about me

I never dreamed I would tell you

How I wish I knew of you

Things might have been done differently

Had I felt this love flowing from you

The years will come, and quickly pass,

And unfold to a time brand new

But I will be standing with my newest daughter

Always whispering, "I love you!"
