A Song for LA

I want to write a song for LA

Where I have lived the longest

And one day maybe it will be

The place forever I rest

This piece will be in a major key

Played in an upbeat spirit

To match its sunny character

And cheerful nature

With jovial notes to enfold Disneyland

Exciting melody to link to Hollywood

Delightful variations for its colorful cultures

From various ethnic groups

Bouncing rhythm to connect with

The adjacent ocean and abutting mountains

And if possible

Let the music be played in Hollywood Bowl

To be shared with tens of thousands of people

Let the happy tune prance

Over the surrounding hills

Amble through the SoCal valleys

In a summer night

With breeze dancing along

Stars as celestial audience
