The French Pianist

The pianist is a fixture

Been at Joey's years

Ask for any tune

Plays it by ear

Has faded elegance

Olde worlde charm

Gentle smile

Professional calm

Softly spoken

Small talk his forte

Curiousity in his wake

Politely bats it away

Women show interest

Make clear their intent

Graciously declines offers

In his French accent

Works the late shift

Six evenings a week

Sundays at home

Often bleak

Sits in his bedsit

After visiting the cemetery

Lost in reminiscences

Toasts his wife's memory
