The Meaning of Love

Love is energy that flows effortlessly through creatures of the Universe. Love is in the view of hue-mans who dares to see it. Love isn't tumbling effortlessly down a rabbit’s hole of uncertainty. One must stand in Love, not fall aimlessly out of fear. Love is the effortless desire to stand in agreement for all things positive, in a world plagued with many facets of negativity. Love is a cool drink of water, on a hot summer day. Love is the raindrops trickling down the leaves on a sycamore tree. Love is me, and should be you. Love is the color Blue so intricately woven in a rug that is used for wiping the bottoms of shoes. Love is the reflection of me that I see in you.

Against Sanity

The war is internal. It’s the two of them standing on a platform of neutrality. They watch sides collide, collapse and compose over and over. The plan is to run away. What they want is to escape the cycle, but it’s a hole, a trap. The more they claw themselves out the more the hole crumbles sending them deeper in.

The fight is to maintain sanity all the while stumbling in and out of the hole. Out of the broken reality. The only hope is that there is an end to the battle. As the hole gradually crumbles it slopes and creates a tradable hill, a path easy to traverse. Before long the resistance gives way and they get where they want to go. Just the two of them.

Persistence wins the war.

Lincoln's Failed Dream

If Lincoln were watching us, he should have stopped doing so long ago. America’s a huge mess now. It’s more of a joke than anything else because many things have gone wrong. Many mistakes have happened between then and now. He’s on a rollercoaster that never ends. But will it ever go back up again? Maybe it’s more like two small steps forward and one large leap backwards.

Winter's Gift

To honor the first snow fall

And all the ones that will come after

We put on our coats, gloves, earmuffs, and hats

To play in the snow, have snow ball fights,

Make snow angels, and if there is enough of it

Then make a snowman

Before getting out the shovel

And cleaning up the sky’s mess.

We end the day freezing cold and soaking wet

Perfect conditions for a cup of hot chocolate.
