Against Sanity
/The war is internal. It’s the two of them standing on a platform of neutrality. They watch sides collide, collapse and compose over and over. The plan is to run away. What they want is to escape the cycle, but it’s a hole, a trap. The more they claw themselves out the more the hole crumbles sending them deeper in.
The fight is to maintain sanity all the while stumbling in and out of the hole. Out of the broken reality. The only hope is that there is an end to the battle. As the hole gradually crumbles it slopes and creates a tradable hill, a path easy to traverse. Before long the resistance gives way and they get where they want to go. Just the two of them.
Persistence wins the war.
