A Gift We Don't Often Give

Attractive opposites attract to opposite tracks.
Mindsets for set minds won’t adapt.
The gift of understanding adjusts our standing.
Whether we stand for or against.
The one sure thing fools sing,
Heartfelt and felt by their hearts,
Dealt and sought out to unite our differences.
The gift of love.
We can understand this much.
No wallet required.

Pretend

When everyone acts like they are happy

Even though you are sad inside

It is the time to hug and kiss random people

Who are in the same room celebrating with you

Whether it is the holidays, birthday, or any other reason to throw a party

You pretend to be happy

But in reality you are sad

As sad as a child who lost their first pet fish

Too scared to see your true feelings because you wouldn’t want to ruin anything

Holding your true feelings inside

Making sure your tears don’t show

That is the right way to celebrate

Fingertips

Warm fingertips sliver down the spine in tense anticipation.
Gentle, yet, controlling hands grip shapely hips.
Gripped waist and the taste of cushion lips.
Tongue like a snake, pink, wiggles and drags along caramel skin.
An entanglement like a bag of connected extension cords.
Surges of electric energy shoot static charges where the cords meet.
Fleeing glances prance around loving dances.
Care free sensations and no chance for frustration.
All sins forgiven and the rotten is forgotten.
The wrong is gone and blissful shocks are shot.
Mellow flows melt flowing metal.
Bodies or water.
Warm fingertips sliver down the spine in relief.

Stuck on the Ship

First time on a cruise ship

And I’m already tired of it.

Just for a few weeks I’m told

But it feels like I’ve been here forever.

Never again I say.

And there are so many things to do I’m told.

Like swimming in the pool,

Eating at the buffet,

Even dancing in the club.

No thanks.

Too many strangers around.

I’ll stay in my room

With a few good books to read instead.
