Pretend

When everyone acts like they are happy

Even though you are sad inside

It is the time to hug and kiss random people

Who are in the same room celebrating with you

Whether it is the holidays, birthday, or any other reason to throw a party

You pretend to be happy

But in reality you are sad

As sad as a child who lost their first pet fish

Too scared to see your true feelings because you wouldn’t want to ruin anything

Holding your true feelings inside

Making sure your tears don’t show

That is the right way to celebrate
