Land of opportunity

Inclusion and equality

That’s what America means to me

Homeless, hungry

Tired

Poor

Huddled masses who’d be free

May these shores your refuge be

That’s what America means to me

Shining beacon on a hill

A guiding light for all to see

The world through our example lead

That’s what America means to me

Have we met, fulfilled these roles?

Perhaps not yet

But let’s agree

These are the goals for which to reach

That’s what America means to me
