‘Tis Art Survives

Since time first dawned

Pre-historic folk

Upon cliffs and cave walls drew

And with rocks and grunts

Rhythms evoked

To give voice to their world view

From these beginnings

Has grown up art

Portrait, sculpture, writing, song

And though some may try

To censor its part

Art survives long aft’ they’ve gone
