Stubborn Resilience

Cares and worries weigh me down

I shan’t move, will stand this ground

Though will pass dark, moonless night

Scared, exhausted, full of fright

Won’t back down, not one small jot

Still will occupy this spot

They’ll not frighten me away

I’ll be here at dawn’s new day

Worn out, tired, done all in

Yet I’m as I’ve always been

As a willow, draped with snow

Bowed, not broken, they shall know

They will flag and leave the field

I’m the one who will not yield

For they battle without proof

Yet I’m resilient

Buoyed up
