Start Fresh

“Start Fresh” is a poem inspired by the word fresh. It points out that we have an opportunity with each new day to change the way we live our life and see a different outlook. We often don’t take advantage of this moment. We dig in our heels and stay true to our stubborn ways.

When our eyes peer open

seeing the dawn of a new day,

do we honestly feel grateful

for this brand-new beginning?

Are we really excited

when we experience this breath of fresh air

with a chance to wipe the slate clean?

Why do we constantly

miss this opportunity

to accept change,

to bring forth new life

like each new season?

Why must we stand in stubborn pride,

digging our heels in,

when we could grasp this opportunity

to shake up our normal routines,

making this world a better place

for all?
