Perspective

We stare into the distance

Searching, seeking, yearning

And see only murky haze

A nebulous muddle

Colors, shapes indistinct

Unfocused

Undefined

Does our reach exceed our grasp?

Our lack of comprehension preclude understanding?

Is our frame of reference skewed?

Insufficient to recognize that displayed before us?

Or are we stretching too far?

Attempting too much?

Contracting our gaze

We begin to make out forms

Familiar, settled, attainable

Kaleidoscopic points coalesce

Into the world around us

Earth, sun, sky

Flora, fauna, people

Perhaps the greater picture is beyond this plane

Only to be appreciated when we cross the final gulf

And become One with it

While things closer to us

Are those we can touch, and feel

Affect, and love

And perhaps this is the reality

Where we should direct our efforts

Using our powers of intellect and passion

Yes, to gain glimpses of those greater Truths

But more so, spending our days

Finding bliss

In our “Here” and “Now”
