Owning Bliss

Owning Bliss is a short poetry piece about a girl's experience of quieter moments.

She sits, legs dangling, on the old couch.

Hands by her sides, eyes directly ahead.

Open.

Pondering eternity or just this moment?

There are no distractions,

No sound or smell lures her.

No scenes of colour or fast action attract her,

The waves of her mind are free, opaque.

Bliss is a ripple on quiet water.

A buzz of warm drips soft like honey

Through the brain,

Beyond the head,

To the soul.

She shares this bliss with the wider world,

Gives as much as she can.

Feels it. Owns it. Becomes it.
