I Will Create a Poem Tonight

I will create a poem tonight

Hope its special kind of joy

Will quell my mundane of the day

And endow me a sweet dream

When I retire to bed

A task not so hard I reckon

I set my paper slightly askew

The angle perfect for my writing hand

I choose a trusty pen

The magic weapon always works

A cup of brewed oolong tea aside

Expect its aroma to attract creativity

A topic chosen and I delve into it

Staring at the paper for a while

I force myself to put down a few lines

The more I look at them

The drier and duller they become

I plead for inspiration’s help

An hour later my patience fades

The wellspring of artistry ceases to spurt

Must it have fallen into slumber

Then I lean to imagination

With my drowsy brain

It won’t take off

Rather it gives in to dreams

In my somnolence I fantasize

A marvelous poem composed

Hope I still can retrieve it

When wake up in the morn
