After So Long

After a break up, we tend to lie to ourselves. We say we're better off, that we don't even miss him or her at all. And then we see them...After so Long.

When I saw today

After so long,

I knew what would happen 

And I wasn’t wrong.

My heart started pounding,

My knees became weak,

My voice cracked and trembled, 

When I tried to speak, 

Then I looked in your eyes

And the memories returned.

I was drawn to the flame,

Even though I’ve been burned.

I’ve missed you so much, 

Even more than I knew.

There is no sense in denying

What we both know is true.

I’ve never forgotten

The time that we shared.

I’ve never recovered from

How much I once cared.

I guess I still love you,

I felt it so strong,

Today when I saw you,

After so long.
