Equality

“Equality”

Is not a mere assertion

That we all are the same

By contrast, life’s experience informs us

That we are each unique

With our own individual talents

Abilities

Desires and hopes and dreams

Each on our own path

In the grand journey of life

“Equality”

Is, rather, an assurance

Being an essential element

Of the social contract

Ensuring that Life

Liberty

Security and Prosperity

Are available to all

Denied to none

That opportunities are

Made uniformly available

And that justice

Is equitably applied

“Equality”

Is an ideal

As yet imperfectly realized

But nobly sought

As we recognize

The innate worth

Fundamental value

Contribution

Of each and every fellow member

Of Humanity

Enabling each and all to achieve

The highest level of accomplishment

Their individual and collective efforts

May attain
