Emotional River

The emotional rivers running

Inside you and me are different

Like water rivers with

Their unique sceneries of

Calm flows, torrents and waterfalls

Our rivers are with our own special

vigor of anger sadness fear

Surprise and happiness

Covert when quiescent

Overt once provoked

They feed on others’ flows

In return they feed back to others’

Time elapsed

Even hundreds of years

Distance apart

Even thousands of miles

Will not diminish the power congealed

From the great emotional rivers

Masterpieces like

Beethoven’s Fifth symphony

Homer’s Odyssey

Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa

Shakespeare's Hamlet

Continue to Imbue our rivers

With fine sentiments from these artists

Long after their demise
