Twenty Years Later

Once God decided to visit the earth. So, He came dressed as a village man. Then visited a village. He saw a lass is sobbing sitting on her house varandah. It was night and she was alone. The house was an obscured part of the village. He came to her to find out the reason for her sobbing alone. After hearing the voice of a male, she started stuttering. Then the God gently put His hand on her shoulder to calm her down. She felt the soothing touch of His hand. Then with composed voice she said...

Twenty years ago when I was born in the night time, my mother left me alone. I was brought up on my father's lap. When I was five years old, my father went for a job and said that he would return back soon. Then my aunty looked after me. Somehow these fifteen years were spent with varied difficulties. Since father left me, they started torturing me. Days went by torture and humiliation. Those days were very severe rough days. After my mother left me, now my father is not with me. My life has become miserably hopeless. While she was retorting to the God she started blabbering as she wanted to say everything in one sentence. Now my life is full of woes. All my happiness during childhood and teenage has been annihilated and my dreams fractured. After hearing the sad story of the lass, God said.....Don't be panic. Have patience. Good times will come after due time. Then the God walked away. The time was already 1 AM. Cold wind was blowing. It was becoming chilly. Slight drizzle increased to light rain. Also there was thunder and lightning. In that cold, dark and rainy night the lass became more frightened.

In the beginning, there was some hope of holding on to but presently everything is formless. Everywhere there is darkness and all surfaces are covered with filth. However, that person's soothing words gave some hope. After all, that person's presence felt like God came to bless her. In that dark, cold and rainy night He showed light to follow a new and beautiful path.

One day her neighbours came to know that there is something wrong with that girl. They started wondering what could be the reason behind the girl's woes. One night they heard shrieking painful cry coming from nearby her house. They found that the father had separated from her mother and she was all alone. Even her father was missing.

One morning, a group of people from nearby village knocked at her door. They asked if any girl lived with marriageable age. The aunty was surprised at such a welcome opportunity and gave the girl to them for marriage.

Somehow, the girl was thankful to her husband as she started a new life. She felt confident to lead a self sufficient life with the extra support of her husband. She felt incredibly happy. Never got worried as to what to eat as the husband provided subsistence. Even if she was young the marriage made a difference in her life.
