Do We Have the Courage?

If we were both to acknowledge love

And open up our souls,

Would that love turn to heartache?

Or unit and make us whole?

If we could quit resisting

The desire we each feel,

Would we confront illusions?

Or something firm and real?

These questions have no answers

Apart from trial and error.

And we know well what consequences

They threaten to lay bare.

Our future hides behind a gate

With no way for us to tell

If decisions we make here and now

Will bring heaven or bring hell.

So, the questions that lies much deeper

Than the questions of our faith,

Is do we have the courage

To walk blindly through the gate?
