Winter Night

Insipid winter twilight lacking

The glamour of autumn dusk

Wastes no time to impress earth

Ushers in the winter night

In such a hurry like his rush

To sever the marriage bond with her

Dark night is an insolent monster

Swaggers in to the center stage

Escorted by bitter wind

Howling along its way

Enshrouding her inner outcry

His nebulous stance conveys empty promise

Silently, they sit apart in the room

She rises to start a fire in the fireplace

Yet the warmth is powerless

To melt his coldness

The small space awkwardly accommodates

The long distance between their hearts

She attempts to break the ice

He returns with a cold-eye glance

Chillier than the freezing air

Drilling through window seams
