When At Night I Try To Sleep

Borrowing from Engelbert Humperdinck’s Evening Song from his opera "Hansel and Gretel" and the closing lines of Robert Frost's poem "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening."

I close my eyes but cannot sleep

while sheep and angels ’round me creep.

Though shooting stars don’t make a peep,

my muses tease with musings deep

and miles to go before I sleep.
