Time Marches On

If time is not connected to

Sunrise sunset

Season cycling

Life evolving

Does it still make sense

Time doesn’t care

If we ever exist

How we comprehend it

Or if we value it

It only minds its own steps

Time is not under

The control of clock

It does not need to obey

Any scientific rule

Nor be submissive to heaven

We are merely time-borrowers

With no knowledge

Of the term allowed

And we squander it

As if it will never end
