The War Within

War

A daily battle

We all must face

betwixt selfishness and selflessness

conceit and charity

How do we

fight this war

that seems to be

waging from within

Do we have hope?

will to weakness

impervious to imperfections

Is there any chance

for conquest?

Tis the lane of life

This war within

To come off conqueror

From this continual conflict

Tat time, we are restless

struggling through strife

powerless to prevail

But power is in us

Hope beats in our heart

As a limitless lifeline

Words can fight this war

wise words within

witty words without

Press forward

with steady steadfastness

The prize is ours

A glimpse in our grasp

Man’s reach extends its grasp

They say

But I say

If we reach

we shall grasp
