The Victory

The flickering beam swayed frantically over the Davenport,

And the drowsy eyes rejuvenated the sumptuous tribute received it a few years ago,

at the terminus of the airport.

My family commitments had led me back to my struggling days,

The same wooden windowpane, the same drizzling raindrops.

But at the epitome of complacency, I realized that this is a success.

I tried to run away from responsibilities, which hurled me back to the plops.

My benignly prejudiced orthogonal ego still wanders a year ago,

When I received a grand welcome for my fifth book launch

But when I am sitting in the same room, sharing the same space,

I used to share a decade ago, before becoming an author.

I can understand the irony even better:

Nobody appreciates your struggle, but the family, Everyone else comes together to clap in victory!
