The Exit

Deep woe is a dark current

Twisting around me

Like a whirlwind

It blocks sunlight

Antagonizes my peace

Enfeebles the soul

Like a heavy timber strikes the bell

It bangs my heart repeatedly

Elicits reverberating mourns

Like black veils wrap around me

Layer upon layer

It is blackening and suffocating

Unaware I am trapped in

A self-spun cocoon

Growing thicker and tighter

As time goes on

Searching for an exit

Hidden somewhere

In the darkness

I stumble into walls

It startles me awake to realize

The key to open the imprisonment

Is in my hand and

It is made of courage
