Stop Lying - She's Not Naive

"Stop lying - She's Not Naive" is a poem about a woman who feels rage because she's been lied to by someone she loves. He thinks she is naive, a person too sweet to hear the honest truth. She wants an instant makeover which says don't mess with her. Her heart aches from not receiving the basic level of respect.

————

Blood boiling beneath her skin,

eyes seeing the color red,

realizing once again

he thinks she is naïve,

too sweet to understand the truth.

Stringing her along,

speaking words of deceit

hoping to hide his actions,

with empty feelings

for her emotions.

She wants to fast track

her appearance

making her forehead scream,

“Don’t mess with me!”

Her heart aches,

yearning for a basic level of respect,

but sees no effort from him

to restore the truth.
