Slice Of Life On...
/Slice of Life on the Sad, Sad Side
Life: Hey! Come on out. I’ve people for you to meet.
Human: Thanks. No.
Life: But, why? You need the fun and fun needs you.
Human: Cuz I’m with someone today. Maybe tomorrow.
Life: Who are you with?
Human: Never mind who. Maybe tomorrow.
Life: I know who.
Human: Yeah, well. Swell. Still…I’m not coming out today.
I’m closing the door for now. Nothing personal.
Life: I await you.
Human: It’s just so new.
Life: Your sorrow? I sense Sorrow.
Human: That he’s gone.
Life: I hate to see you alone. Come back. Open the door.
Human: I’m not alone.
Life: You’re not alone? Who’s there, at your side?
Human: You said it. Sorrow. Sorrow is at my side.
Life: When do you think you’ll come back?
Human: I don’t know.
Life, sighing: There’s so much waiting for you here.
Human: I’m not ready yet. I’m very, very sad.
Life: If you’d just come back, I’d be so glad.
I’m your friend.
Human: I love you but have another friend for now.
It’s all I can handle.
Life: Who’s this other friend? Sorrow? Is Sorrow your other friend?
Human: Yes.
Life: When will you let it go, this Sorrow?
Human: When it lets me go.
Life: Oh.
Human: Yeah.
