Rhythms Are Around

Natural rhythms are

Within and surrounding us 

They are overt or covert

Silent or audible

In living things

Heart beating

Lungs breathing

Brainwaves oscillating

Feet ambling

Each has its pace

In nature

Day and night alternate

Seasons rotate

Wax and wane of the moon

Ebb and flow of tides

In orderly patterns

Nature’s music like

Mourning doves’ cooing

Nightingales’ singing

Frogs’ croaking

Have their melodies

Natural rhythms coexist 

In the unpredictable

Human behavior 

And chaotic phenomenon

Of our ecosystem
