One Day At A Time

We were busy college students; however, we made time to protest the war.

————

In the sixties, I was in my prime.

As an actress, it was always showtime.

As a scholar, studying disrupted bedtime.

But the news showed scenes from wartime.

Serene sleep stopped at nighttime.

I could no longer say: “All in good time.

My friends and I chose to focus on peacetime.

Protesting the war became a pastime.

Concern for our country replaced party time.

Years have now been stolen by Father Time.

Many still remember being “partners in crime”.

We wanted to change the world, one day at a time.
