On Redemption

We all have erred

And fallen short

In our time upon this Earth

Chances squandered

Victories lost

Dues paid without true worth

Some seek restitution

Some would exact revenge

Some would sulk

And some would cry

Bruised ego’d try avenge

And then there’s those who tally

The evils they have done

And try to right

What they’ve set wrong

Before their race is run

‘Tis these who see

Their troubles caused

Hurts public and unseen

And through their acts

Seek to atone

‘Tis these, may be redeemed
