Me vs Legalism

I am the precedent:

A classic “I told you so” case.

I am a convict in the cage

Of religious rage.

I am the fuel,

The fire,

Always in hot water,

A disappointment,

An inconvenient daughter.

I am extinguished

With your coldness.

I evaporate

In your absence.

I am the cycler,

The breaker,

I leave wakes of war.

You mistake

My deflated disposition

For resilience:

Your hall pass for negligence.
