Letters to myself -"Compassion."

A look into the mind of a poet. Thoughts on the word Compassion!

————

Today after a great deal of time to rest and daydream I have come to think about the word compassion. Perhaps a hidden feeling within mankind. When our hearts become cold and fragile, we often lock the doorway to our inner being. Throwing away the key and not knowing the meaning of the word at all. However, as time passes us by, we soften and open our doors once again to the feeling of compassion. For surely if I did not open the door to compassion, I would not be a complete human being.

Among the sight into ourselves is the act and thought of compassion. We act upon it from our hearts mind a part of our subconscious. Compassion develops in our outer selves. Perhaps coming from our life experiences. We find compassion is necessary to keep us all human beings. Not of a robotic world. A place where our compassion grows even when we don’t know the reason why. It lays there in our subconscious mind tucked away neatly. It is as much an instinct of ours as our sight. We often take this for granted not realizing how rewarding these feelings can be. Mankind has been gifted with it so stop fighting so hard to keep that door closed like a prison. When inside you really want to break free to avoid inner conflict!

Yes, today I will allow myself to feel compassion and act upon it in my daily life striving to remain human and not a robotic being.
