Last Bliss

In a rush she was taken to hospital

Amidst the fight with sickness

She wrote her seven-day wishes

He found the list beside her pillow

“Lord, please grant me

Seven-day health

To leave this sick bed

The first day let me indulge in

Cooking various dishes he likes

And I will store them in freezer

The second day let me pick up

knitting the scarf has yet to be finished

The third day I will devote to clean up

Clutters on my desk and in the drawers

The fourth day let us take our loyal dog

For a ride to the park and a sniff walk

The fifth day I will prepare birthday gifts

for children and grandchildren

Also write them nice cards

The sixth day I will invite close friends over

We will chat and sing freely all day long

The seventh day will be saved

For us to be alone together

Let's hold hands and listen to

Our favorite songs”

Only her last wish was granted

She was bathed in bliss with

A smile trickled out on her face

He held her hand until

The last trace of her warmth left
