Then there is who we are

“Identity”

“Essence”

“Me”

Poet

Songwriter

Philosopher

Artist

Healer

Lover

Mother, Father

Daughter, Son

The core of what defines us

To ourselves and to those around us

Give your best

To the things you “do”

For there is satisfaction

In hard tasks performed well

But do not let what you “do”

Define who you “are”

Rather, infuse who you are

Into everything you do

For true achievement

Comes in the realization of your potential

And the sharing of your talents

Your abilities

Your soul

With those around you

For in this way

Will who you are

And what you do

Become manifest, and lasting
