He'll Bring You Through It

“He’ll Get You Through It" is a poem that shows one how to face storms in life by trusting in the promise of God.

Twisted and torn

like debris in a tornado,

no energy to walk.

Tears flow uncontrollably,

bracing for the next storm,

lifting my voice to heaven

when an angel says,

“If he brings you to it,

he’ll bring you through it.”

The corners of my mouth turn up,

the fountain from my eyes become dry,

my feet move forward

like there’s a lightbulb 

turning on inside my mind,

telling me to take one step at a time.
