Another runway, another flight

Missed, delayed, canceled

Rerouted hither and yon

Far beyond our intended route

Way stations, plans derailed

Switched, sidelined, decoupled

Bound to the end of the line

On obscure tracks to oblivion

Ticket punched, fare collected

Visa’d, validated, loaded 

On an endless journey to nowhere

Our destination unplanned and unexpected

Docks and piers, tide’s run out

Sunk, adrift, aground

Sailing forever against the wind

To any port in a storm
