Fight This War First

Listen, we have to hurry up

Fight this war first

You may have others to tackle

But if we lose this battle

There won’t be any left to tussle

This war so imminent and immense

Wages against all of us

And if we are defeated

All of us and other critters in tow

Will be hurled to hell

Rich and poor, young and old

Are all in the same boat

Nowhere you can escape or hide

Even if you own the whole world

Or the most advanced spacecraft

The Moon is so bleak

Mars not enough air

Venus way too hot

Don't expect your fancy starship

Will take you to a livable planet

So, gear up!

Everyone is a soldier in this war

To fight against enemies pumping

Greenhouse gases into the air

Aiming to burn up Earth, eliminate lives

Yes, more or less, directly or indirectly

We can be the enemies ourselves

Emitting carbon dioxide, aiding and abetting

Formations of horrendous wildfires

Disastrous floods and deadly cyclones

So, fight with our best effort against

This global warming war first
