Facing Fear

This poem was inspired when I heard the coronavirus is alive in my little town. I have faced many health battles in my life. I am a survivor. I will not give up now.

On a normal day

she's strong,

pushing away the barricades

letting fear stand behind her

in the shadows.

But today isn’t typical

as panic creeps in her mind,

with stories of coronavirus

plaguing her little town.

She finds strength

from those who share in her battle

to stare fear in the face once more,

realizing she fights too hard

to lose this struggle now.
