End of the Party

Melancholy dims my sunshine

Drains my gaiety away

Tinges my mood with blue hue

It roots inside me

Grows like a tree

I can’t hack it off

It penetrates my soul

Circulates in my blood

I am unable to separate from it

It hides behind happiness

Loiters around pleasure

Hovers over victory

At the end of the party

Its sad face looms at the door

Waiting to take me home
