Echoes of War...

Echoes of War: A Poetic Reflection

Daylight shines bright

In the darkness of broken dreams,

Bright days lament

Another day,

Another midnight battle.

Haven’t we tried this before?

Before we’ve tried this, haven’t we?

We’ve done this before.

Bunker buster bomb

Bomb bunker buster

Buster bunker bomb

Chest thumps at the ruin.

The ruin echoes in your chest.

Ruined trust and flames rise.

Poor souls want to return home.

But war profiteers say:

Bow your head to the empire.

The earth swallows a casket of despair.

To war, we go once more.

Death keeps the score.
