Daedalus, North Of Eden

Icarus voyaged overhead with his dad,

exuberant with the new freedom they had,

but hubris took over his vigor and vim—

ignoring advice, he could fly but not swim.

Daedalus landed much later that day;

he was quickly remanded and then sent away.

Because he lacked documents or ID card,

authorities flew him to someone’s vineyard.
