Come Back Home

“Come back home”

I hear the earnest calling from afar

Like Mother’s beckoning

The voice is getting louder

As days go by

Repeatedly I dreamed

I was running home

But never could I reach it

Always hindered by blockades

Constantly struggling to get through

Or I got lost in the middle of nowhere

Standing there perplexed

As the day was getting darker

My search for home turned harder

Always waking up in dismay

Since I could never reach home

To finally enjoy the bliss of reunion

With all my folks as bygone days

Seemingly deep in my heart

The only home it pines for

Is the cozy and safe childhood abode

Though a humble house

It’s more precious than a king’s palace

Through the hands of my parents

Outside troubles were fended off

The value of our home was

Its happiness, not its price

My parents are long resting in peace

Siblings scattered around

My long-gone childhood home

Still calls me back in my heart

And continues to shelter my soul
