Cold Poems

It hurts my ego to know

You write poems too and even more

You have been doing so for quite a while

I thought poetry was such a delicate art

It could only be

Created by a warm heart

Extracted from exquisite feelings

Birthed through tumbling of emotions

Poets adorn their poems with

Glint of morning dews

Fragrance of rose petals

Sound of a butterfly flapping wings

Softness of breeze caressing

Though your poems might fool my eyes and render me

To think they were crafted from someone of my kind

Still I can sense the missing of warmth of mammals’ blood

Even if your poems are good

I challenge you to read them

With tears and laughter

Rage and ecstasy

To further empower your verses

It is not that I try to play down your poems

You do not have a pulsating heart charged with emotions

At most you are but a complicated nerve-like lot

With electrons circulating inside

Following rules set up for you

Choosing words from millions fed to you

In your poem making

But your cold logic I do respect

Why don’t you just stick with chess rivals

Leave poem creations to poets
