Clearance: Trusted by No One

Daylight spills,

blinds dance,

I shake with sobs.

Arms wide—

a bungee jumper

poised to fall

into the depth

of a waiting lake.

On the edge,

for reasons unknown,

I stumble, sway.

An angel's offer—

save my soul,

or

sell my life.

Clearance rack—

all confusion,

sold—

with the change,

I cast off doubt

in us—

to see our love

trusted by no one.

Tangled in evening dreams,

her soft breath

carries me,

skinny dipping

in our flaws.
