Cherish Treasures

It is always after a loss

We start to cherish things more

For when things are easily held

They become mundane in our eyes

Those precious treasures gone forever

We regret not holding them tighter

And we can only honor them

In our memory

We cannot turn ashes into life

Cannot bring back the shine

From dulled eyes

The smile from frozen lips

The vanished treasure

Becomes priceless

And turns into

A poignant reminder
