Black Orchids

There’s a bird in my rib cage
That would sing in the cold.
It’s wings once overlapped -Trapped
In tight spaces but upon seeing your face they taste freedom As they start to unfold.

Orchids..... once pure black you Painted to white.
Petals and stems Once Consumed by the night
now stretch out towards you like a
              Thousand stars burning bright.

I’m tasting your lips and embracing your light.

Can you taste me too?
       Breathing deep into you.

Breathe in........
